Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Drew Brees, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed Helms, Michelle Rodriguez, James Marsden and Michael B. Jordan will join famed survivalist Bear Grylls

NBC has announced the cast for its summer adventure series “Running Wild With Bear Grylls,” which premieres Monday, July 13 (10-11 p.m. ET/PT).

In this hour-long alternative series, the famed adventurer, writer and television host will take eight entertainment and sports stars into the most remote and pristine locations in the U.S. and around the world for a 48-hour journey of a lifetime.

Joining the renown survivalist for season two are Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, Oscar nominee Kate Hudson, Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees, Emmy nominee and “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, “Hangover” star Ed Helms, “Furious 7” star Michelle Rodriguez, and award-winning film and television actors James Marsden (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Michael B. Jordan (“Fantastic Four”).

Each of these eight accomplished actors and athletes will partner with Grylls for two days for a one-on-one adventure they will never forget. This season, the series will take viewers from the jungles of Panama to the far reaches of the Italian Alps and then to the Colorado Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Red Rocks of Utah. The intrepid cast members will face their deepest fears and tackle everything from skydiving to repelling as they journey through some of the world’s most unforgiving wildernesses.

“It has been such a privilege to adventure alongside these iconic men and women – and this season has made for some unforgettable journeys,” Grylls said. “The excitement of being dropped into uncharted territory and tackling the wilderness head-on, in the way we do, can be both daunting and very draining, but it is also very empowering when we finally make it out in one piece. Along the way, we get to see the stars we love in a totally authentic way as they face a few demons and come through it stronger. And that’s the beating heart of ‘Running Wild.’ ”

Each of these stars will push their minds and bodies to the limit to complete their journey.

Grylls and Delbert Shoopman devised the show. Grylls recently starred on the NBC series “Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls” and serves as host and executive producer of “The Island.”

Posted on 08/23/2013 by admin with Comments Off on Nick Frost And James Marsden In Talks To Join Vince Vaughn’s Business Trip Filed under: News

Even though we haven’t yet gotten a peek at Ken Scott’s Delivery Man starring Vince Vaughn, we’re already getting more information about the pair’s second collaboration, the “high” concept comedy Business Trip. (Note that the quotes indicate a comedy inside of a plane, not anything to do with stoners.) TheWrap reports the New Regency-produced film may have landed two quality co-stars, as the British gem Nick Frost and James Marsden are both in talks to join the cast. I’m much more interested in seeing Marsden in comedic roles over dramatic ones, and Frost can do no wrong for me, so here’s hoping even their supporting roles will be enough to balance the whirlwind of overacting that is Vince Vaughn.

Unfortunately, there still isn’t very much information regarding the film’s plot to be gleaned from this casting news. Vaughn will star as an American businessman who experiences a world of hijinks and craziness while on a flight to Europe. (I can’t help but assume someone mistakes him for a hijacker at some point.) Dave Franco also stars, and “supporting roles” is the only description that Frost and Marsden’s involvement gets.

Frost is of course best known for his film and TV work shared with Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright, including Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the soon to be released finale to their Cornetto Trilogy, the sci-fi comedy The World’s End. While it will be quite strange to see him regularly starring in movies without Pegg (they were also in Paul together), he has a few projects lined up to make the transition easier. He’ll star opposite Chris O’Dowd and Rashida Jones in the dancing comedy Cuban Fury and will star in the British romantic comedy series Mr. Sloane, which should be out next year. He’ll also be heard in Laika Entertainment’s highly anticipated upcoming stop-motion animation The Boxtrolls, which also has Pegg in it.

Marsden, meanwhile, has had a busy year already, with roles in both the recently released biopic Lee Daniels’ The Butler and the comedic action romp 2 Guns, and he has a well-rounded slate of upcoming films that will keep our theaters Marsden-heavy for the next year or so. He’s in the sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Erik Van Looy’s suspense thriller remake of his own film The Loft, Steven Brill’s comedy Walk of Shame, and David Hackl’s thriller-in-the-wild Red Machine. He’s currently filming Shira Piven’s comedy Welcome to Me opposite Kristen Wiig.

There’s no telling when this thing will get started, but New Regency is looking to release the film next year at some point.

I apologize for posting this so late.  I held off on posting about this before when news first came out months ago as I wanted to be 100% sure & it looks like it is.  Congratulations Jimmy!

James Marsden is a father for the third time.

Brazilian model Rose Costa delivered a son, William Luca Costa-Marsden, on Friday, Dec. 14 in Los Angeles, PEOPLE has learned.

The 30 Rock star, who briefly dated Costa after his split from wife Lisa Linde in 2011, picked the name and is being very supportive, a source tells PEOPLE.

Marsden, 39, is already dad to daughter Mary James, 7, and son Jack Holden, 11, with Linde.

A rep for the actor could not be reached for comment.

Posted on 01/23/2012 by admin with Comments Off on James Marsden, Thomas Jane and Billy Bob Thornton To Battle A Bear In Red Machine Filed under: News

Next week all of you will be able to go to theaters and watch the likes of Liam Neeson, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Dallas Roberts and Nonso Anozie survive a plane crash and find themselves going head-to-head with a pack of wolves in the Alaskan wilderness that would love to eat all of them for dinner. But just in case that’s not enough man vs. wild for you, Indomitable Entertainment and Paul Schiff Productions will be bringing you Red Machine.

Variety has learned that James Marsden, Thomas Jane and Billy Bob Thornton have been cast in the new thriller about a monster grizzly bear. The story follows a pair of brothers that travel with their girlfriends in to the woods for a camping trip and are ceaselessly terrorized by a giant bear known as the “Red Machine” (hence the title). Marsden and Jane will be playing the brothers in the movie while Thornton will be “a legendary bear expert and hunter.” David Hackl, who is best known for directing Saw V, is helming the project, which is based on a script by J.R. Reher.

Said Hackl about the movie, “In Red Machine I want to examine the thrill of very real fear. An audience is more easily drawn in by a story that they consider plausible and relatable — something that could actually take place in the real world. Just by the premise you know something bad is going to happen.”

All you really had to say was “Billy Bob Thornton will play a big game hunter” and I would have been satisfied, but Jane and Marsden are just icing on top of the cake. The Grey, if you haven’t already heard, is a great movie, so here’s hoping that Hackl can capture something similar.

Webmistress’s Note: Wow….this came as a total surprise.  For the sake of Jimmy’s privacy this will be the only thing posted for now.

After more than a decade of marriage, James Marsden’s wife Lisa Linde has filed for divorce.

Citing irreconcilable differences in court documents filed one week ago, Linde is seeking spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two young children Jack and Mary.

“It’s always been about being together and keeping the family together,” the X-Men and 27 Dresses star, 38, told PEOPLE in 2008 of his then-happy marriage.

“When I’m not working, I want to be home, and that’s all I want to do.”

Patrick Wilson and James Marsden will star in the thriller Loft, a remake of a 2008 Belgian film, reports Variety.

The original film’s director, Erik Van Looy, will return to direct the Anonymous Content remake. Wesley Strick (A Nightmare on Elm Street) wrote the script, based on Bart De Pauw’s script for the original.

In the 2008 movie, five married men share ownership of an upmarket loft, which they use to discretely meet their respective mistresses. When the body of a murdered woman is found in that loft, the men begin to suspect each other of having committed the gruesome crime, as they are the only ones with keys to the premises. Through flashbacks, which are intertwined by scenes from the present, the entire story is unraveled.

Filming is targeted for a spring start.
